Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) Awareness Month is recognized in April. Specifically, April 19th is recognized as Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Awareness Day. Organizations like CDH International work to raise awareness about CDH throughout the month of April. 

The ribbon above is the ribbon for CDH. The big reason I started doing this is to raise money for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Now I want people and families to be aware of CDH and what’s being done to help and cure. My son AJ was born with CDH and I had no clue it was a thing new parents or parents had to worry about it. He was born 6-14-11 and fought for 15 days and made me so proud to call him my son. We had to say goodbye because his little lungs couldn’t expand. So that’s why I try to do 4 -5Ks a year for him because I can. You can always donate to your local children’s hospital. It is 3.1 miles so walk it first before you decide to try any running distance decisions.
